Weekly Timetable

PE

This year, Algeria Class have PE timetabled for Wednesday and Thursday. You will need your kit for these times but it's a good idea to bring your kit and leave it in school as we may do extra PE activities during the week.  This half term, we will be working on Invasion Games and Fitness Circuits. If the weather stays dry, we will also do some Orienteering.

PPA Time

I will be out of class every Thursday afternoon and Mrs. Trott will take Algeria Class during that time for Computing and PE.

Homework

Homework will not be set for the first 2 weeks as we all need to get used to being back at school first.

Future homework is likely to include:

  • Spelling activity  - spelling lists can be downloaded from the Algeria Class Homework page.
  • Maths and  GPS may be set using online resources e.g. Sumdog, Times Tables Rockstars, MyMaths and SPaG.com.
  • Reading: You will have a reading book for use in class but this will need to stay in school for now. It would be a good idea for you to also have a book at home that you could share with your family. We will talk about this at school because reading is a key focus for us in Year 6. :)

See our homework page to download homework sheets here.

This Week in Algeria Class - Subject Spotlight:

22/9/20 Maths - We have focused on place value in numbers up to 10,000,000. Today, we used 10-sided dice to generate 7-digit numbers and then compare our numbers to see which is the greatest.

18/9/20  English - Poems about special places. Inspired by our focus text 'Here We Are' by Oliver Jeffers, we have drafted, edited and published about places special to us.

PSHE - We have created health and safety rules for the classroom and made information posters and signs to help us remember them. :)

PSHE - We have been creating our own Happiness Boxes and now we are planning what to put inside them. :)
