Ferring Church of England Primary School

An Inspiring Place to Grow, Believe and Achieve

Ferring Values

At Ferring C of E Primary School we believe in offering an inspiring place to grow, believe and achieve.

We want our children to GROW as individuals.  In doing so they should acquire a rich, deep knowledge and understanding of Christian belief and practice and develop a wide range of skills including enquiry, analysis, interpretation, evaluation and reflection both in RE and across the curriculum.  Our children will ACHIEVE highly through experiencing a coherent curriculum that enables them to progress through ordered and sequential learning developing both knowledge and skills.  In order to enhance children's ability to BELIEVE in themselves and their own limitless opportunities we encourage individuality and promote the four basic elements of the Church of England Vision for Education - Wisdom, Hope, Community and Dignity.  The education we offer promotes 'life in all its fullness' (John 10:10).  We are driven by our desire to educate the whole person, providing intellectual and physical development alongside spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

Wisdom - We nurture academic habits and skills, emotional intelligence and creativity across the whole range of subjects.  We help our children learn what they need to understand and practise in order to be a good person.  Our children should GROW in wisdom.

Hope - We open up the idea of hope and aspiration for the future.  Our children should BELIEVE in themselves and those around them.

Community - We develop a sense of togetherness within our school with a focus on relationships and participation in our community which enables us to flourish together.  As a community of learners we can ACHIEVE our goals and aims. 'You should love you neighbour as yourself' (Luke 10:27).

Dignity - We promote the basic principle of respect for the value of each person.  Especially relevant to the idea of dignity is the safeguarding of all of our children.

Children at Ferring C of E Primary School receive and education that embraces excellence and academic rigour within a wider framework of spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, moral and social development which enables them to flourish - to experience life in all its fullness - to grow, believe and achieve.
