Starting School 2020/21 - welcome to ferring primary school
Hello and welcome to Ferring Primary School, we are so excited to meet you in September! We are working really hard to make sure that transition this year will be the best that we can make it given current circumstances. Normally we would be inviting you into school to meet your new teacher, explore the classroom and get a feel for the school before you start in September. Unfortunately this year we are having to do things a little differently and our plans are constantly evolving as more guidance and information is shared with us from the Government. The children's wellbeing and safety is of the upmost importance to us at Ferring.
This part of the website will be updated with further information over the course of the next few weeks. We have also set up a dedicated email address for you to use should you have any questions or worries. This will be active throughout the summer holidays and checked regularly by myself. The school office email, whilst in use, will not be checked as regularly.
Email address: email@example.com (please check spam/junk folders for emails from myself).
Mrs Wells- Italy (Reception) Class Teacher
Over the summer holidays I will be in school getting our classroom all ready for you to start in September. I've taken pictures of the classroom as it is at the moment and other areas of the school so that you can have a look before you join us!
Starting School Arrangements for September
This year, our transition from nursery to school will look a little different to normal. At the moment our plan is that the first full week in September (w.b:7th) is dedicated to 'Stay and Play' sessions and the following week (w.b:14th) is transition to school. Below is our current plan for September, it also includes the link to book your 'Stay and Play' morning sessions.
Below is a copy of the 'Starting Reception' newsletter that has been emailed out. You'll find lots of useful information inside, activities for your child and things you can do before your child starts school in September.
