Oak National Academy Online Lessons

A national home learning schedule of work is now available through Oak National Academy. This came out last week and is an excellent resource. It comprises 3 daily lessons - English, Maths and a different foundation subject each day. Each lesson has a video presentation with guided and independent activities pupils can do in their home learning books. I think it will support busy parents very effectively. I recommend this approach to regular and age-appropriate learning at home for parents and carers who have less time available to support their child's learning and are looking for a more streamlined system. The Oak National Academy resources can be used as an alternative to the home learning activities on the Algeria Pages. I will happily accept work done through Oak National Academy lessons and give feedback on this in the same way. Please let me know if you are intending to use Oak National Academy resources instead of the activities on Algeria Home Learning pages and please do continue to send me children's work which I will display here :)

I will still set a comprehensive scheme of work here and on the Algeria Maths and English pages which follows the learning that I would have provided in class and I will also continue to feedback to children about their achievements and progress in these activities.

BBC Bitesize Daily Online Learning

BBC Bitesize now also offers daily home learning activities and is another excellent resource.

This term's topic is 'Fantasy Lands'. We will be investigating fantasy fiction settings, stories and authors and using and extending our geographical, art and story-telling skills. Get ready to explore strange, new worlds . . .
