Ferring Church of England Primary School

An Inspiring Place to Grow, Believe and Achieve

Year 6 NCT week - May 2015 - Breakfast Club

The children in Year 6 worked extremely hard during  NCT week.

They enjoyed the breakfast club which was available to them every morning during the week, filling up on a variety of breakfast choices to give themselves the energy to take on the challenge of tests.

We are all very proud of them.

Here they are enjoying breakfast club.

Ferring Fest - May 2015

Ferring Fest was a great success this year.  All who attended enjoyed stalls, tombolas, raffles, food and some great entertainment from all of the classes.  We were very grateful to all the performers  and to the prefects from Davisons School who were perfect face painters.  Thank you to everyone who was involved in putting the event together and everybody who attended - you helped to make it a memorable occasion.

Happy Shoes Day - May 2015

As part of the Living Streets - Walk to School initiative the children and staff at Ferring took part in Happy Shoes Day.  Such initiatives encourage children and families to walk to school whenever possible, bringing about a positive impact on our environment and making the streets around the school safer for our children.  The children wore shoes which made them feel happy and enjoyed a special treat when Strider, the Living Streets mascot, visited to join in the fun.

Giant Walking Bus - June 2015

The children, staff and helpers of Ferring CE Primary School took part in a Giant Walking Bus event in order to raise road safety awareness.  Led by our Junior Road Safety Officers, we walked in a circuit through Ferring, beginning and ending at school.  We were promoting safe driving speeds for passers by to see, which we would like to see around the local area.  This was part of an initiative organised by Brake, the road safety charity.

'Thank you' Afternoon Tea - July 2015

We are extremely lucky here at Ferring to have so many willing parent/carer volunteers. They help us to run clubs, work with children in classes, listen to readers and attend trips. We would not be able to accomplish some of the events and activities without them.  We are very grateful for all of their support.  As a thank you for this years efforts we invited all the adults who have helped us to attend an afternoon tea.  Mrs Silk and Mr Ryan were busy pouring tea and coffee as a group of very efficient Year 6 children took orders and waited on tables, bringing them their choice of refreshments and a variety of delicious cakes. Everyone appeared to enjoy the afternoon and believe it or not there were even some cakes left over for the hard working Year 6 children.

The Copper Trail - July 2015

All of the classes have spent the Summer term collecting copper coins in a competition to become the next successful class to have their name on the Ferring CE Primary School Copper Trail Shield.  Jars were filled up and a selection of children from each class had the task of laying copper trails in the playground to find out which class could produce the longest line.  The coins will now be counted and added to the SOFSA funds to help continue to support various school projects.  The winning class with the longest lines were.......

Year 3 - South Africa Class.

Well done to everyone and thank you for your generosity.
